Gaila: Why do I read books? Reading books has become my escape route from the reality. Books have a magical power in placing me in different time periods, and in different state/countries/planets. Reading has also helped me in opening up my perspective in a lot of things, making me develop some sort of patience, understanding, and empathy in other people. It has also been proven that reading increases cognitive development, hence one of the many reasons why I read books.
