Andrew Smith's first book in the Winger series was such an enjoyable read. I had fun reading the story about a teenage boy attending a rich boarding school. Not only it was a funny read, but the book has graphics and illustration as well that gets the readers looking forward to as they get submerged in the story. Many people might find this book relatable, as it deals a lot about bullying. Despite the negative environment that the protagonists is in, he still manages to see the fun and happiness in it, which I thought was admirable. Ryan, the protagonist, always sees the silver lining in everything, despite the poor circumstances he goes thru. The ending of the book shocked me though. I did not expect nor notice a single foreshadow in the previous pages about what was going to happen in the ending. It left me completely speechless. It is soooo good. I'd say it's a pretty realistic of what a high school teenager experiences at that age.
